NUTRITION
Your relationship with food speaks volumes about You
Nutrition is of utmost importance on your journey- Inner & Outer. But… with all "fad" diets and eating regimens, each claiming to be the "best", where do you start?
- Can everyone be on the same dietary regimen just because some school claims to be "the ultimate"?
- Does everyone carry the same constitution from birth?
- How about changes in seasons? And places?
- How to sustain a particular diet when the world has become extremely fast pace?
- How to keep up with a "fixed diet" plan, when traveling?
- Isn't it that from time immemorial people used to live in tune with nature and eat only what nature provided them with at that particular place (i.e. local food) during that particular season (i.e. fresh food)? …in today's vernacular known as, eating fresh local organic food…
I've experimented with food a lot throughout the years. Out of curiosity, I have tried almost all the "diets" out there, and I'll tell you one thing: diets don't work! They just make you miserable, deprived and "brain-foggy". Is this a quality life to be lived, even if you reach your ideal weight?!? And how can the same diet work for everyone???
Given my lifestyle and continuous travels, I had to gain a lot of knowledge on nutrition. I learnt to travel with my "mobile kitchen"… and insisted on cooking myself most of the time. Eating out would have definitely not sustained my vitality and spiritual practice; and mind you, for most part I was in developing countries. Yes, I did use local produce but my choices were wholesome & my way of cooking was holistic. I knew exactly what I was putting into my mouth - the food that would become part of my body in a few hours… Not to mention the fact, that I've always found cooking a very therapeutic and meditative experience.
